Antique Apache Basket

Apache Polychrome Figural Tray. A solid three-point star center repeating in concentrically in outline creating design fields in a complex pattern. The weaver has filled these fields with dots, crosses, birds, and human figures; the latter in red willow. The human figures have negative look at you eyes and stand with forearms raised and fingers splayed. Materials are willow rod, white willow, red willow, and devil's claw.

Condition: Very good condition. One area of stitch loss closer to the center comprising six missing stitches, otherwise very minor scattered stitch loss. Patina and fading commensurate with age.
