Hopi Coil Basket

Hopi Coil Basket woven by Caroline Fred. The basket has depictions of the Twin War God Kachina on either side, along with deer figures. The brighter reds and black are commercially dyed while the yellow, green, and white are natural colorations of the yucca plant. The basket was most likely woven within the past fifteen years; Lack of yucca plants growing in recent years have hindered weavers from making baskets this size.
