Ute Cradleboard

Ute cradleboard with hardwood base covered in brain tanned deer hide stitched with hide thong and cotton thread. Willow sticks give form to the hood. Beaded with Venetian beads, sinew sewn. Hide painted with yellow ochre, umbilical cord amulet hung from cradle. Amulet is loom beaded over hide. Sewn with cotton thread. Brass buttons down the front panel.

Condition: Fair condition. Missing the willow canopy. Small areas of bead loss throughout.
