Rena Mountain is credited by McManis and Jeffries as starting “Spider Woman” rugs in the 1980’s. The rugs feature a hole in the center symbolizing Spider Woman’s place of emergence into this world.

Rena has been weaving rugs since the 1950s. Her designs include pictorials, storm patterns, four-in-ones, tree of life and Spider Woman rugs.
