Navajo Handwoven Ganado Rug
Navajo handwoven Ganado rug by Fannie Pete. Ganado area rugs are known for their striking "Ganado red" color usually contrasted with black, white, and grey elements. Designs are traditionally a single or double central diamond representing the weaver's home and the four sacred mountains portrayed in a triangular geometric in each of the four corners. This particular rug is woven with commercially dyed wool which has been re-washed and hand spun to the weaver's preference. The design on this rug is a single eight-pointed Vallero star in the center bordered by serrated stepped patterns.
