Navajo Sandpainting

Navajo handmade sandpainting by Fred Stevens Jr. "Grey Squirrel". The sandpainting is created in a careful and sacred manner, according to the ancient knowledge of the art. They are used to restore balance and harmony by performing one of the many Navajo chants in a ceremony. This sandpainting is designed with a Yei motif in the center with bald eagles connected to either hand flanked by two snakes and bordered by a protective Rainbow Yei.
