Antique Sioux Men’s Leggings
Sioux man's leggings. Fancy leggings made for wear at "special occasions". The leggings are deer hide edged in fringe with a dress flap at the heel and rubbed all over with yellow ochre. Bead decorations are sewn along the edges in white and blue with four "morning star" decorations on the fancy heel flap. A bead strip on hide is sewn on vertically down the leg. Additional fringes accent the bead strip with clear bead decorations. Sinew and cotton thread both were used in the construction.
