Zuni Wedding Vase
Gaylon Westika was born in 1979 in Zuni New Mexico. He is the son of Anderson and Availia Peynetsa. His parents also influenced Gaylon and taught him the traditional way of making pottery. Gaylon uses all natural slips for his pottery, clay gathered from the grounds of Zuni NM, along with traditional painting tools and techniques. Gaylon has exhibited at the Heard museum, the Museum of Northern Arizona, the Indian Market in Santa Fe NM, the Gallup Ceremonial, and the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos. This wedding vase displays very intricate designs with a deer as the centerpiece.
