Navajo Handwoven Yei Rug
Navajo handwoven Yei rug woven by Helen Begay. Yeis are tall, elongated spirit figures which represent protection. In each hand they are holding prayer sticks. In a properly conducted ceremony it is believed to restore mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. This particular rug has been woven with commercially dyed wool which the weaver has re-washed and re-spun.
