Artist Profile

Irene resides in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, a small community 10 miles southwest of Four Corners. She is the younger sister of Darlene and Bessie Littleben. All three sisters make excellent textiles. They specialize in Teec Nos Pos rugs known for complex designs with strong diagonal compositions and zigzag or swallow tail borders. Persian carpets and other Middle Eastern rugs have influenced their style. Teec Nos Pos weavers continue to create some of the largest rugs.
