Taos Pueblo Frame Drum

Handcrafted drum by native craftsmen from Taos Pueblo. The drums are made from one of three types of wood: cottonwood, pine or aspen. This particular drum is made from cottonwood with the center hollowed out. Rawhide is the other material used; it is soaked in water until it can be stretched over the hollowed trunks and it is it used to tie the bottom and top piece together. Each drum comes with a handmade drumstick.
