Apache Twined Burden Basket

Willow and devil's claw, Native tanned deer hide. Twined basket with deerhide strips running vertically at four places around the basket. Deerhide bottom cover. Thong deerhide fringe decorations. The mouth of the basket is reinforced with a bent willow rod wrapped in deerhide (an early trait. Later baskets used wire to reinforce the mouth).

Condition: Excellent condition.
